Jeroen Overmars

My name is Jeroen Overmars and I joined Senz Interim as a Business Intelligence Consultant on 1 April.

I have spent almost my entire career in field service. I worked for around sixteen years implementing software systems for route planning and optimisation in the roles of (lead) consultant, product manager and project manager. This gave me proficiency in the use of a wide range of IT technologies, including SQL, web services, links between systems, Business Intelligence (using Reporting Services, PowerBI and Crystal Reports, among others) and configuring and managing Azure environments.

For me, the greatest challenge is in ensuring that IT adds the right value to the business, and that means that I enjoy listening to stakeholders. I enjoying leading workshops in which I gather the information together with the client and look for solutions, and then turn this information into appropriate solutions.

My educational background is in chemistry, IT and philosophy. More specifically, laboratory IT and automation (Saxion, Deventer), the philosophy of science, technology and society (UT, Enschede) and business process management and IT (Open University). I completed the first two courses but, as my family was growing, I decided to pause the final course at graduation.

This is also the bridge to my private life. I live in Enschede, somewhere I love, with my wife Nienke and three children. I enjoy reading, don’t do anywhere near enough sport (though the runs I take with the children are thankfully getting longer) and love cooking and music.

At Senz Interim, I have the opportunity to specialise more deeply in the multi-faceted world of Business Intelligence. The education market is new to me, and I am confident that my new colleagues will be able to support me in getting to grips with all the ins and outs of the industry. If I’m called upon to so, I’ll be happy to solve other IT issues either at Senz Interim or for clients.
